The USA Rugby DI Fall College Championship was the only game to occur between the previous and final rankings, and it was a fabulous contest between two service academies. The outcome did not alter the positioning of the rankings but rather reinforced it.

The U.S. Air Force repeated as fall champion with a 26-10 win over the U.S. Naval Academy, and the Midshipmen gave, by far, the Colorado team its best DI competition of the season. Had Navy taken a heavy loss, then the 3-6 spots would have been reconsidered.
Overall, Navy and Wyoming did well to mix up the fall competition and here’s hoping this season serves as a launching – rather than a high – point for these two programs. In the new year, the rankings will turn toward those conferences that are building toward the spring championship.
